Gallery

Located in the dynamic West End district of Beacon's Main Street, this historic brick storefront currently houses a gallery, a Hudson River bookstore and gift shop and Beacon Institute's administrative offices. The Gallery features photography, artwork and other exhibitions illustrating life along the Hudson River.

Photographer and arts advocate Linda Hubbard’s exhibit, As the Crow Flies, presents a compelling aerial perspective of the Hudson River from Bear Mountain to Kingston, through photographs taken in 2007 during three flights in an R22 helicopter.

Harnessing the Hudson: Waterwheels to Turbines

This exhibit, on loan from the Chapman Historical Museum in Glens Falls, NY, contains a collection of archival photos with accompanying descriptive text that tells a dramatic story of the power of water, which inspired the early innovations that created turn-of-the-century renewable energy.

Ted Spiegel | The Hudson's Seasons & Spans

Ted Spiegel, an accomplished photojournalist with more than 50 years of experience, has covered assignments across the globe, but like the 19th-century artists of the famed Hudson River School, he's made the Hudson River Valley the focus of much of his life's work.

Linda Cross | Reflections on the River

Paintings exploring the Hudson River

Cross’ work “delivers an interpretation of more than river, more than that which lies below the water or between its shores.” The new relief landscapes, made from paper pulp formed around shapes, are tactile abstractions of temporal reflections in the river.
