Dr. James Bonner ignites STEM learning for Oakwood students at pilot program launch

Beacon Institute's Chief Research and Education Officer James S. Bonner, Ph.D, P.E. launched a new pilot program with students from Oakwood Friends School on Tuesday, October 1 at the Center for Environmental Innovation and Education (CEIE) at Denning's Point. The program aims to inspire high school students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), using River and Estuary Observatory Network (REON) sensor technology as a hands-on teaching tool.

Oakwood Friends School, located in Poughkeepsie, is working together with Beacon Institute to develop a model STEM program in an effort to encourage students to become the next generation of science, engineering and technology innovators.
