On Thursday, 9/18 at 7 pm, journalist Tom Wilber, author of "Under the Surface: Fracking, Fortunes, and the Fate of the Marcellus Shale" will discuss the status and future of shale gas development in New York State in a conversation with Hudson River environmentalist John Cronin. The event will take place at the Institute's Center for Environmental Innovation and Education (CEIE) at Denning's Point in Beacon, NY.

The talk, titled "Under the Surface," is free and open to the public. Online registration is requested.

Wilber, whose book "Under the Surface" was first published in 2012, is working on an updated edition to be released next year. It is Wilber's evenhanded, factual approach to the complex subject of fracking as presented in his book that has motivated the Beacon Institute event. Read the full press release.
