Michael C. Finnegan is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Continental Organics, LLC, a sustainable agriculture company located in New Windsor, NY. Finnegan, after retiring as a managing director of the environmental finance group at JP Morgan Chase, re-joined the Army in 2008 and became the oldest-ever graduate of the Basic Officer Leaders Course. He played a key role in George Pataki's rise to Governor of New York and served as his General Counsel. He holds a bachelor degree from Siena College and a Juris Doctor from Pace University. Finnegan returns to Beacon Institute's Board of Trustees, having been involved with the Institute since its inception in 2000, serving as vice chair from 2005-2008.
William J. Florence, Jr., Esq., is a partner in the Florence & Smith law firm in Peekskill, NY. A longtime public servant, Florence served as Deputy Commissioner, Acting Executive Deputy and Counsel for
the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and in charge of the Traffic Violations Bureau for the City of New York and other metropolitan areas. He earned an undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University. Florence, also an original Beacon Institute board member now re-joining, previously held the office of treasurer and secretary.
